What this website collects

Nothing. There is no account to make, no form to fill in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind. The site stores nothing on your device — no cookies, nothing in local storage.

The one thing that happens anyway

Our host keeps a record of requests. The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web server, theirs records the requests it answers, including the IP address they came from. We do not see those records and cannot link them to a person.

That is the only one. Everything the site needs — the lettering, the images, the code that draws the Darbar Sahib on the front page — is served from this website itself. Your browser never contacts another company while you are reading it. The typefaces used to come from Google Fonts, which meant Google received your IP address on every visit; they were moved onto our own server on 8 October 2026 to stop that.

If you message us

If you contact us on WhatsApp or by email, we hold what you send — your name, your number or address, and whatever you tell us — so we can answer you and, if you come to a class, so we know who is in the room. We keep it no longer than we need it, we do not sell it, and we do not pass it to anyone outside the charity unless the law requires it or a child is at risk.

WhatsApp is owned by Meta and has its own privacy terms. If you would rather not use it, email gurmat@shaheedibunga.com.

Photographs

This site shows photographs of classes, camps and samagams, and children appear in some of them. If you or your child is in a photograph here and you would rather you were not, tell us and we will take it down. You do not have to give a reason, and nothing happens to your place in the class.

Email gurmat@shaheedibunga.com, or speak to whoever teaches your class.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Write to the address below and we will reply.

If you are not happy with how we answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

If this notice changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date.
