Raising a
concern.
Children and adults learn here. If something about a child’s safety or welfare worries you — at a class, a camp or a samagam — please say so. You do not need to be certain, and you do not need to have proof.
If someone is in immediate danger
Call 999. Do not wait to tell us first, and do not wait to be sure. The police and the council can act straight away; we cannot.
Telling us
Speak to whoever is teaching the class, or write to gurmat@shaheedibunga.com. Say what you saw or heard, when, and who was there. You can ask us to keep your name out of it, and we will unless the law or a child’s safety makes that impossible.
We will come back to you. If you would rather not raise it with us at all — for any reason, including if your concern is about one of our own volunteers — use one of the numbers below instead. They are not a last resort; they are a proper route and they are always open to you.

Photographs of children
This website and our social media show photographs of classes and camps, and children appear in some of them. If your child is in one and you would rather they were not, tell us and we will take it down. You do not have to give a reason, and it changes nothing about their place in the class.
Our policy
The trustees have adopted a safeguarding policy and a separate policy on safeguarding vulnerable beneficiaries. Both are recorded on the charity’s entry in the register of charities, where anyone can check them.
Neither is published on this website yet. If you would like to read either one, email gurmat@shaheedibunga.com and ask.
We have not yet put the name of the person responsible for safeguarding on this page. Until it is here, use the email above, or any of the numbers further up — those work whatever we have or have not written down.
